Alice Cooper, Volume 1: Welcome To My Nightmare Standard Edition (2015, Dynamite 97810606 906927)

This nice hardback release features all 6 'Alice Cooper' comic books editions plus some bonus material.  Each edition is started by the original 'Virgin Art' cover with the following material the same as the original releases (minus the adverts).  I'm not quite sure why the 'Welcome To My Nightmare' title was added, or why it's titled 'Volume 1' but maybe we'll find out in the future!

The bonus material is prints of the alternative 'Incentive covers' for issues 1 and 2 (the coloured one) plus a reproduction of the 1979 Marvel comic

Dynamite Promotional Text:

Rock n' roll legend Alice Cooper has never been a stranger to the mystic and the macabre. His stage shows were the stuff of legend, featuring snakes and pyrotechnics, the invocation of dark themes and darker forces. But while he was a legend in the waking world, few knew his service as "The Lord of Nightmares" beyond it, where he watched over us while we dreamed, and delivered horrors unto the deserving. Only someone took it all away from him, cast him out of his realm, and locked him away. No longer enslaved to the Clan Black, Alice Cooper will reclaim his dark throne at all costs. All hail the Godfather of Shock Rock! This mind-bending collection includes the complete six-issue Dynamite comic book series, plus Alice Cooper's first-ever comic book appearance from Marvel Premiere #50, featuring the creative talents of Alice Cooper, Jim Salicrup, Roger L. Stern, Ed J. Hannigan, and Tom F. Sutton, fully remastered!

Alice Cooper, Volume 1: Welcome To My Nightmare Signed Edition (2015, Dynamite 97810606 907542)

In addition to the  Standard Edition (above), a very limited Signed Edition was also released.  The Signed Edition is exactly the same as the Standard Edition with the exception of an additional page featuring the hand-signed autograph of Alice Cooper.  The only other change is that a new barcode sticker is present on the back.  This copy was purchased from Forbidden Planet so it also has one of their 'Signed' stickers on the front.

My Valuation: £100

Alice Cooper Vs Chaos, Issue #1 (2015, Dynamite)

In 2015, Dynamite released a further comic book series featuring Alice Cooper.  This series was subject to 6 editions and, as with the previous series, saw a number of different covers offered.

Issue 1 could be found in 6 (yes 6) different covers, these were as follows:

1. Main Cover;

2. Virgin Art Cover;

3. Black and White Incentive Cover;

4. Blank Authentix Cover;

5. Baltimore Comic-Con Exclusive Photo Cover; and

6. New York Comic-Con Exclusive Photo Cover.

I have all of the above except the Virgin Art Cover, as (just like the previous series by Dynamite) this is simply the Main Cover version without the title and banners for $50 rather than $3.99!.

Dynamite Promotional Text:

It's the ultimate heavy metal crossover as the original shock rocker meets the original death metal comic book universe! Bizarre nightmares are plaguing Evil Ernie, Chastity and Purgatori, and though the hate each other's guts, they may have to join the teen monster team called The Chosen to find the one and only Alice Cooper!

Co-writer Tim Seeley says, "I'm excited to work with my friend Jim Terry on the perfect mash-up of our favorite things. Dynamite is a great place to make crossovers, and this one will be pure metal. Raise your devil hand, fiends."

Co-writer and artist Jim Terry says, "Diving headfirst into the CHAOS universe has been incredible, like being pushed out of a plane into a combat zone filled with gods, nut jobs and the most gorgeous women you could fathom. I'm doing my best to keep up with it and hopefully kick in a little dramatic flair, as well as Tim and my own particular brand of madness. Add Alice Cooper to the mix and we're hoping to leave fans breathless from action, horror and mind bending rock n roll surrealism.

Orbit Alice Cooper (2014, Bluewater Comics)

In 2014, Bluewater Comics released an unofficial comic which, similar to the 1990 offering by Revolutionary Comics, was essentially a biography of Alice's career.  Alice is drawn in a less menacing looking fashion than in some of his other comic-based adventures, furthermore the story also explores areas of his personal life with Alice even dishing out some life coaching to the kids that the story centres around.  Overall, it's not a bad comic but far from essential.

Issue 1 (the only one to date) was available with 3 different covers.  Cover A (which cost about $4) features a drawing of a modern day Alice, complete with snake, under attack by skeletons.

Also available was Cover B, a 'Comic Flea Market Exclusive' (which cost about $6), and features a drawing of Alice with his fists clenched and snake wrapped around him.

Finally, Cover C was a 'Comic Flea Market Limited Edition' (which cost around $10), and features a drawing of Alice with eyes closed and arms held out either side of him.  This was limited to just 100 copies with the issue number printed on the inside of the front cover (mine is number 12).

Promotion Text:

Alice Cooper is a man, a band, and an idea that took on a life of its own, a voice for shock and glitter rockers whose influence created stars like Marilyn Manson and KISS.  Behind the paint, the boa constrictors, and the staged executions is a man...
